Grant Writing — If you would like to work with us, we can help you obtain the funding you need by assisting you with developing a proposal for a grant or award for online or hybrid courses. Whether you are applying for an ILTI award, or Campus Summer Call, we encourage you to engage with us.
Instructional Design — We work with instructors to smartly design courses for online or hybrid modes of instruction. This involves collaborating on just about every part of a course, from designing the overall framework, to developing units or modules, to creating meaningful student activities that promote instructional goals.
Videography — With an in-house videography team, we provide high-quality video and audio recordings that are tailored to the expectations of online students. Our suite of studios is located in McHenry Library, but we also often record at locations on and surrounding the beautiful Santa Cruz campus. We have a variety of studio spaces, from traditional green screen to a learning glass, that allow you to match your instructional content with the ideal video format.
Project Management — Developing a fully online or hybrid course is a complex process that requires project management. To help instructors focus on their strength—instruction—we handle the details of managing projects. We schedule your studio sessions and team meetings, create and manage course development checklists, provide quality assurance and accessibility testing, and so on.
Coaching — Teaching an online course is a new experience for many of the instructors we work with. To help you develop the course you imagined, we provide coaching on performance, feedback on scripts, and training on instructional design practices and instructional software.
Partnerships — Online Education works in collaboration with units across campus and within the UC system to provide support that meets the needs of faculty and students alike. To this end, we partner with units such as the Innovative Learning Technology Initiative, Disability Resource Center, Center for Innovations in Teaching and Learning, Digital Scholarship Commons, Librarians, Faculty Instructional Teaching Center, UCSC Summer Session, etc. If you have a project in mind that you’d like to partner on, please reach out to us.
